Issa Boulos is a renowned Palestinian-American composer, ‘ud virtuoso, and ethnomusicologist born in Jerusalem in 1968. He blends traditional Arab instruments with Western orchestration, creating works for orchestras, films, and ensembles like the Chicago Symphony. His research documents Palestinian music history, including resistance songs, and he teaches at Harper College while leading cultural preservation efforts.
